ITs April 26, 2010

TODAY IS THE DAY OF OUR PRESENTATION. I am a bit nervous but I will be fine, at-least I would like to think that. The presentation starts at 12:30 pm., on third floor of Love Joy library conference room....All the big guns are coming. But I am ready for the challenge. I have worked hard on the script. I would like to thank Mike Pulley for the great internship oppertunity at ITs, and Mrs. Hartning for this great oppertunity and I am glad I was part of her class before she retires. I wish her all the best.

ITs April 23, 2009

Though progress has seemed to come to a standstill with the Scripting and testing, we have still been working diligently towards our deadline. Sadly this part of the project consists mostly of waiting for people to return emails concerning the times they are available to come and any problems they have faced of any of our topics related to Scripting. This coming week is to be much more promising.

Today I answered few calls, and helped here and there in ITs. I have also worked on presentation we had to give end of semester. I did some testing and re organized the scripts but also I asked questions if I had an confusion about how to solve issue. Script is getting ready and were taking questions as we progress.

ITs 04/09/2010

I answered phone calls. Put in some tickets. Help walk in customers with e-ID problems. I was there for couple of hours and I pretty much for the most time I was helping with anything. I also helped organize the back repair room. I also try to run a virus scan on students computer.

Answering Phone 04/02/2010

Today in ITs I just answered the phone calls and learned how to put in a ticket. I also helped customers with any question they had, when they walked in. I also Installed a hard drive into one of the machines. Truck was in so I also, helped moving some boxes.

ITS 03/04/2010

Today I worked on my script the whole time I was there. Also helped ITS with installing office and several other software's on several computers. I also ask the ITS Clerks, what were the common questions they get from student, in regards to problems with, e-ID, Black Board, and Cougar Net. I than analyzed from the inputs given from clerks and other colleagues in ITS. I will have the three script analyzed and written in readable form for users to understand better.

ITs 03/01/2010

Today I had three machines that were needing to worked on. First machine, I installed a new graphics card and new RAM. Than we scanned the computer for viruses, it turns out that the computer was infected. So I performed SoPhos Virus Scan. Second Machine, I cleaned the tower it was too dirty. Than I re-installed a new copy of Windows XP, before I can do that I had to back all the data on the computer. On third machine just Installed Office 2007 Site and Virus Software. That was much for the day, see you next time.

Scripts Discussion

Today I met with the Scripting team and we decided on how the script should be written. What are the expectations are from each team members.......I am doing the Blackboard and Webmail. I done some research online on some of the most asked questions about Blackboard. Analyzed the questions and how it can be solved in simple steps. Webmail was easy research for me since webmail issues can cause Blackboard problems at times. However, they are seperate issues overall.

ITs 4th Week.

ITs 4th week I forgot to log in the two Hours I was in there. However, I continued to troubleshoot the machines as they needed. Had some discussion for wrighting script and asked Jeff....some Black Board FAQ's. Helped mike organize with DVDs of the softwares. I installed a new hardrive on one of the DELL machines. and re-Installed Operating System (OS) XP. Than Installed all the necessary Softwares as needed.

ITs 3rd Week

Third week in ITS, I continued my work from last week. Installed a new hardrive in of the computers and than Installed Windows 7. I Installed windows 7 properly. Helped Mike organize a place bit. Than I continued with some other machines and try to remove the virus.

ITS 2nd week

Well second week I went in there seemed like there were couple things that needed to be done. So I Installed Windows 7 one of the machines and Installed a Hardrive into server machine. Also I troubleshoot one of the XP machines would not boot. Installing windows 7 was quite FUN!!!! Well that's it for this week.

ITS Fist day

Friday was my first day in IT as an CMIS Intern. It was introduction time and getting some work done today. I replaced an hardrive and Installed Windows XP professional on a Machine, which was previously infected with virus so had to Install brand New Hard Drive. Also, Checked for viruses on a computer which was Faculty and staff coumputer but unfortunately, due to Windows copyright wasn't being able fix it. Thats it for first day was there for five hours. Can't wait till next time, looking forward to it.
